Australian Passport (validity with at least 6 months or over) & a photocopy of the biodata page
Machine Readable Passport/Smart Card/NID/17 digit Digital Birth Certificate .Both original and photocopy will be required during submission of documents. Photocopies are accepted without original only if it is attested by a JP/GP.
Applicants under 18 years old must submit original birth certificate and a photocopy in addition to the document listed above from 1-3. A 17 digit Bangladeshi online-verifiable birth certificate or a Bangladeshi MRP passport of the applicant is also acceptable.
Two ‘Passport-size’ colour photos (not older than 6 months); Australian passport size photo acceptable
Payment receipt [If paid in advance through EFT]. Ignore this clause if you have a pre-booked appointment and wish to pay at the counter through EFTPOS.
Please read carefully before you pay the NVR fee:
Consular fees are received for processing applications. Hence, consular fees are non-refundable even if an application is rejected or withdrawn.
Bangladesh High Commission in Canberra and Bangladesh Consulate General in Sydney are two separate entities. Service can’t be provided by the Consulate General of Bangladesh in Sydney against a payment made to the High Commission of Bangladesh in Canberra.
Fees are subject to change without prior notice.
The payment of the fee shall be made at least 03 working days prior to submitting the application form [In case of EFT].
A copy of the payment transaction receipt shall be attached to the application form.
Cash/personal cheque/Direct Deposit is NOT accepted.
Credit card/EFTPOS payment is possible at the consular counter. Transaction fee of the card company will be applied in addition to the consular fees.
NVR Fee: AU$ 70.00 (for both new and reissuance application)
Mode of payment
The fees may be paid in ONE of the following ways:
Credit Card/EFTPOS payment at the Consulate’s service counter. [transaction surcharge applicable];
Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT);
Postal Money Order/Bank Cheque payable to Consulate General of Bangladesh in Sydney;
Cash/personal cheque/Direct Deposit is NOT accepted.

N.B.: The Consulate General of Bangladesh is not responsible for documents lost or delayed in mail / Courier.
The delivery of the visa may be obtained in one of the following ways:
By the applicant in person;
By authorized person. In this case, a letter of authorization issued by the applicant as well as proof of identity of the authorized person (photo IDs such as driving license, passport etc.) shall be required in addition to the delivery slip;
By postal mail. In this case, a self-addressed, pre-paid return envelope/Courier (signature on delivery) shall accompany the application.
Please be mindful about the time for pickup : Pick-up/Collection Time [Pre-booked Service Seekers]: 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM [same day or any other working days once the application is finalized]
Book an appointment online (please check requirements section) prior to visiting the Consulate for the service.
Choose number of services carefully during the online appointment. For example, if there are 4 applicants, No. of services will be 4.
Please bring along all required documents [Original & photocopies].
Arrive 10-15 minutes before the appointment time on the day. If appointment time is over, the appointment slot will be automatically deleted from the system and service cannot be processed with the same appointment.
Keep your appointment tracking number handy before entering the premises.
Collect a token from the Kiosk. Please ask for assistance if you have any confusion.
Please take a seat in the waiting area and wait patiently until your token number is called by the Consular Assistants.
Prepare and double check all documents before approaching the counter.
Submit the documents to the consular counter.
Respect the rules of the Consulate.
Rest assured; leave the premises with peace of mind and collect the service during the delivery hours.
